Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red gel food coloring
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  5. For the cream cheese frosting, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Once brownies are cooled completely, spread the frosting on top and cut into squares.
