Ingredients

  • 4 ripe heirloom tomatoes (sliced)
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella (sliced)
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the tomatoes under cool water and slice them into thick rounds (about half an inch).
  2. Slice the fresh mozzarella into similar thick rounds.
  3. On a serving platter, alternate layers of tomato and mozzarella slices.
