  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups chocolate frosting

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, and melted butter; mix until just combined.
  4. Divide batter between pans and tap lightly to release air bubbles.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, layer one cake on a platter, spread caramel sauce on top, and place the second layer on top.
  8. Frost the entire cake with chocolate frosting.
