  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 5 tablespoons milk (whole)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Add the egg and gradually mix in milk until a soft dough forms.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl for the filling.
  6. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness; cut into rectangles (4×6 inches).
  7. On half of the rectangles, spoon some filling, leaving space at edges. Top with remaining rectangles and press to seal.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with vanilla and milk.
