  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture using a spatula.
  4. For the topping, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts until crumbly.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan; sprinkle with half the topping. Add remaining batter and finish with the rest of the topping.
