  • 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses

  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add molasses and eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Once cooled, whisk powdered sugar with milk for frosting; spread over bars.
