  • 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm. Mix with sugar and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Gradually add the foamy yeast mixture.
  3. Slowly incorporate flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out dough to about ½ inch thick on a floured surface; cut into donut shapes with cutters and save the holes.
  6. Let shaped donuts rise on greased trays for another 30 minutes while preheating oil to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Fry donuts for about 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown; drain on paper towels.
