  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3–5 minutes).
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
