Miso salmon is a delightful dish that combines tender salmon fillets with a sweet and savory miso glaze. This quick-to-prepare meal bursts with umami flavor, making it perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests. Serve this vibrant dish over rice or alongside sautéed vegetables for a colorful and satisfying meal.

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp white or yellow miso paste
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (unseasoned)
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • For Garnishing: 2 green onions (chopped), 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together miso paste, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place the marinated salmon skin-side down, and bake for 12-15 minutes until flaky and opaque.
  5. Brush reserved marinade onto the salmon during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra glaze.
  6. Once out of the oven, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
