  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup strawberry puree
  • 2 cups whipped cream (for frosting)
  • Fresh strawberries (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together flour and baking powder; gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide batter into three portions: mix cocoa powder into one for chocolate, fold strawberry puree into another, leaving one as vanilla.
  6. Pour each flavor into separate pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks.
  7. Assemble layers with whipped cream between each flavor, finishing with chocolate on top. Decorate with fresh strawberries.
