  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. If desired, stir in nuts or chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
