  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili oil (adjust to taste)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • Nori sheets (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook rice according to package instructions using approximately 1 ¼ cups of water.
  2. In a small bowl, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Set aside.
  3. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture until evenly coated.
  4. In another bowl, mix diced tuna with soy sauce, chili oil, and green onions; let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  5. To assemble, scoop seasoned sushi rice into bowls and top with marinated tuna and sliced avocado.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and strips of nori before serving.
