4 black tea bags
2 cinnamon sticks
1 inch ginger, sliced
4 cardamom pods
4 cups water
3–4 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
2 cups whole milk (or non-dairy alternative)

Instructions
Boil 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and steep black tea bags, cinnamon sticks, ginger slices, and cardamom pods for about 10 minutes.
Remove the tea bags and spices; stir in honey or sugar while warm until dissolved.
Add 2 cups of milk to the tea mixture, stirring well. Let it cool before refrigerating until chilled.
Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled chai mixture over the ice. Stir gently to combine.
Optionally, garnish with ground cinnamon or nutmeg before serving.
