  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup green olives, chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika (or smoked paprika)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping onion and bell pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and bell pepper until soft (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef; cook until browned and crumbly. Break up meat as it cooks.
  4. Stir in minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce and add olives. Mix well and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add bay leaves during the last few minutes of cooking. Adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
