  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté vegetables: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and carrots; cook until soft (about 5 minutes).
  2. Brown the beef: Increase heat to medium-high. Add ground beef; cook until fully browned while breaking it apart.
  3. Create filling: Sprinkle flour over meat mixture; stir well. Gradually add beef broth while stirring until thickened (around 3-5 minutes).
  4. Season & finish: Stir in salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and peas. Remove from heat.
  5. Prepare crusts: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry sheets to fit your baking dish.
  6. Assemble & bake: Pour filling into the dish, cover with pastry, vent slits on top, and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
