  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add thinly sliced onions and cook until golden and fragrant.
  2. In another skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt and pepper until fully cooked.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cooked beef, sautéed onions, and Swiss cheese. Top with another slice of bread (buttered side out).
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
